About Sunny

Hello, I'm Sunny. I have been practicing complementary and alternative medicine since 2007. Initially trained in massage, I went on to study acupuncture in 2013. I have a 1st in traditional acupuncture and various diplomas in massage. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the UK's largest professional body for traditional acupuncturists, and on the Accredited Register run by the Professional Standards Authority. I am insured and licensed with Huntingdonshire Council.
As a therapist I aim to create a synergistic treatment by bringing together my various training and experience. Acupuncture is a powerful and effective treatment, and I am passionate about sharing it's healing potential with you.

You can choose to have treatment when you have a specific complaint or if you feel generally unwell but have no obvious diagnosis.
Acupuncture evidence is limited due to the expense of conducting clinical trials and due to the lack of high quality evidence. We can say with certainty that acupuncture is effective for short-term relief of tension type headaches, migraine headache, chronic low back pain, neck pain, chronic neck pain and temporomandibular (TMD/TMJ) pain.
In addition acupuncture can be used as a short term and complementary treatment for osteoarthritis knee pain. Acupuncture has also been shown to improve overactive bladder in the short-term, by using electro-acupuncture at the SP6 point.

Vickers et al 2018, a systematic review of high quality clinical trials concluded that acupuncture is not a placebo treatment for chronic pain and that the effects of treatment persisted over time.
Each session costs £55 and lasts for 1 hour. There is no extra charge for the initial consultation, which is included within the first treatment. Please visit the fees page for more information.

Acupuncture needles are very fine and therefore painless. You may notice a mild sensation. If you find the treatment uncomfortable the needles can be adjusted. Many people find acupuncture treatment to be deeply relaxing.
