Sunny Jaspal
A little bit about me: Sunny Jaspal, Acupuncturist, BSc (Hons), MBAcC
My clinical experience stretches back to 2007, when I began working as a massage therapist. In 2016 I qualified as an acupuncturist. By bringing together my various training and experience I am able to create a synergistic treatment. I will treat you with empathy, honesty and respect.
I began studying complementary and alternative medicine (CAMS) when I was 19, after experiencing the benefits as a teenager. Reflexology, massage and aromatherapy improved my wellbeing, easing anxiety and physical pain. Now in my 30’s, I have been studying and practicing since.
I have a 1st in traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture (see below) and am registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK’s largest professional body for the practice of traditional acupuncture. As a member of the BAcC I am also on the Accredited Register run by the Professional Standards Authority and backed by the government. My practice is covered with medical malpractice & public / products liability insurance. Both of my clinics in licensed with the relevant authorities in Letchworth and St Neots.
Massage Qualifications
I qualified as a holistic therapist in 2006 after 2 years of studying a holistic diploma focusing on reflexology, massage and aromatherapy. In addition, I studied Indian head massage, advanced reflexology techniques, aromatherapy skincare and chemistry. In 2012 I enhanced my massage skills by undertaking a diploma in sports massage.
Acupuncture Qualifications
In 2016, after 3 years of study, I graduated as an acupuncturist with a first-class honours degree in Chinese medicine acupuncture at the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine at London South Bank University. The course included modules on biomedicine, as well as a focus on evidence based acupuncture. The course was accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. I continually update my knowledge by undertaking regular CPD. I have completed further training in the treatment of infertility and am currently undertaking a paediatric acupuncture course.
Clinical Experience
Prior to beginning private practice I volunteered with HIV/AIDS charity BBPositive and with the NHS with a focus on stress and bereavement. I began practicing in 2007 at the Complementary Health Care Clinic in Norwich, also working with NORCAS, an addiction charity, and Mind, the mental health charity. During this time, I was also the practice manager at the Complementary Health Care Clinic where I dedicated my time to ensuring clients received the highest level of care and the broadest range of effective natural solutions in a caring environment. I have also worked as advisor at the Natural Food Store of Norwich where my training in nutritional supplements has proven invaluable for supporting patients.
From Norwich I moved to London to study acupuncture in 2013. Here I ran a busy practice at the Shala, a well-respected yoga and Pilates centre. I also opened my practice in Letchworth Garden City. More recently, I have moved to Cambridgeshire in 2021 and opened a new practice in St Neots, in a purpose built garden treatment room.
